Tool Kits

I started putting tool kits together for several reasons. The 2 main reasons were for quality tools (mostly German, Swiss and Italian) and the idea that the kit would consist of the basics - quality tools that will serve you for a lifetime. As you advance in skills, you will see the need for specific tools for the task at hand.

Tool kits run from $250.00 to $450.00. We can customize the selection of tools according to your needs. Contact the studio at 919-240-5253 for more information or to purchase a tool kit.

Bench Tools

I really like buying and selling hard to find tools. These include bench shears, used torches, rolling mills and water sanding machines. Although you can buy new ones, many of the older units are better built and will last forever. I go through the tools, do some upgrades and then sell them at a fair price.

Call the studio at 919-240-5253 and see what I have in stock or let me know what you are looking for.

Torch Kits

I sell Smith Little Torch Kits. The kit consists of the following: 20 lb oxygen tank, 5 lb propane tank, oxygen and propane regulators and a carrying caddy. I use Harris or Victor regulators exclusively. They are of the highest quality and will take some abuse, unlike others on the market. All torch kits are made with new components.

If you would like more information on torch kits or would like to purchase a torch kit, contact me at the studio. 919-240-5253

Torch kits cost $550.00

Kilns

Since 1983, I have used most of the kilns available on the market. My personal favorite is Paragon, for several reasons.

1. Simple design. A kiln has one purpose - to fire glass, PMC or any other materials requiring heat. This means getting the work in and out in one move. The controls are in front of you, easy to read. And the latch is strong yet easy to open.
2. Fire brick construction & recessed coils. I can read the heat in a kiln by the brightness of the fire brick and coils. This is much more difficult with fiber inserts. Also, much easier to replace.
3. Customer service. Paragon has people in Texas who will walk you through repairs, trouble shooting and advice. They know their stuff. They also have tutorial videos and a presence on Facebook.
4. American made. They last. I had one Paragon that was struck by lightning. A new switch and coli and I was back in business.
